Ljusa Tider
A multilingual publishing and compliance platform from Sweden — open source, sovereign, language first.
Ljusa Tider is a Swedish platform company. Everything we build starts with language: we run a multilingual publishing and compliance platform for businesses that need to be understood — precisely — in every market they enter.
Language first
Underneath everything we run sits Polyglot, our translation foundation: 71 languages, more than 350,000 curated translations, canonical English sources, terminology registers, and a full audit trail on every change. Products sold in the EU must carry safety-critical information in the official language of every member state where they are placed on the market — up to 23 languages, each carrying legal liability. At that point translation is not decoration; it is regulatory infrastructure.
Polyglot is open source in the strongest sense: in June 2026 the corpus was merged into Nick — Plone's PostgreSQL-backed headless CMS — through the Plone release team, and the same pipeline that translates our customers' sites now serves the wider community.
This page is published in English, Swedish and Chinese today, and it is on its way to every one of the 70+ languages the corpus carries — the platform demonstrating itself on its own front page.
One platform, many independent sites
The platform runs as a fleet of independent sites on EU-hosted infrastructure: each site has its own backend, its own frontend, its own isolated database and its own certificate. Nothing is shared at runtime between sites — a property chosen for auditability, and one an auditor can verify by listing databases and services rather than by trusting policy.
The fleet today, August 2026: nine production sites — among them Vilax, a furniture manufacturer's exhibition site in more than 30 languages; ARCAB, an industrial supplier of armoured cables and coiled tubing publishing in 31 languages; Plate to Paper, an artist's trilingual portfolio; and our openly published guides commons. In private pre-launch sit working compliance workspaces for manufacturers entering the EU market in regulated sectors — in-vitro diagnostics and CE-marked machinery.
A new site goes from nothing to a live, certificate-bearing deployment in well under an hour, through typed, audited provisioning.
Secure and sovereign by design
The whole chain — Nick, Volto, PostgreSQL, Forgejo, nginx — is open source, self-hosted and jurisdiction-neutral. Data has a home jurisdiction and stays in it: the architecture federates rather than centralizes, so the same pattern can serve customers whose data must never leave their own country.
We hold our AI-assisted development to the same discipline as human work: everything auditable, every change documented before it is deployed. More than 2,800 controlled documents govern the platform's own construction — before it carries anyone else's compliance work, it is its own first compliance case.
Compliance is the endgame
EU regulation requires safety-critical information in the official language of every member state where a product is sold. That is where this platform is headed: post-market surveillance, documentation control, and multilingual market access for importers and manufacturers — with language precision as the foundation, because nothing else works without it.
